TELENAE REID: 10TH/11TH GRADE COUNSELOR

[email protected]

Hello Falcons! My name is Telenae Williams Reid but please call me Mrs. Reid. I recently moved here from Illinois where I was a school counselor for over ten years. I have a bachelor of science in Economics from Illinois State University, a master of education in human services and counseling from DePaul University and received my certification in school counseling from Northern Illinois University.

I am married and have two children. In my free time I enjoy watching movies and TV show mysteries to figure out who committed the crime. I also enjoy shows about helping others and animals like Dr. Pimple Popper and Dr. Pol. Christmas is my favorite holiday and love that time of year because everyone is kinder to one another.

I am excited to be in Las Vegas and especially to be working at CASLV! I look forward to getting to know and work with you to assist you in any way that I can to achieve your goals.

TANYA MARKLEY: 8TH/9TH GRADE COUNSELOR

[email protected]

Hello! My name is Ms. Markley, and I came all the way from Pennsylvania to be your school counselor. This is my second year as a counselor; previously, I taught middle school English for about eighteen years. I am very excited about my new role, and I look forward to working with the staff and students at CASLV.

A bit more about me… I have a B.S. in Exercise Science from Penn State (WE ARE!), a B.A. in Secondary Education from York College of Pennsylvania, and a master’s in School Counseling from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.

I am an avowed crazy cat lady, but I love all animals. Currently, I only have three cats.

I am a runner, and I run one race every month. I mostly run 5Ks, but I try to squeeze in one half marathon each year. I have run in some really cool cities such as Las Vegas, New Orleans, Memphis, and Miami.

I love country music! Luke Combs and Dierks Bentley are some of my favorites.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve success here at CASLV.

NICKY SMITH: SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER

[email protected]
(702) 776-8800, EXT. 165

Hello Falcons! I’m Nicky Smith, but you can call me Mrs. Smith. From little on, I always knew I wanted to give back and help others, and being here at CASLV as your school social worker is a true pleasure.

I am a licensed social worker and have lived in Las Vegas since 2014, working in various helping capacities. I have worked with for-profits and non-profit organizations alike, assisting youth, adolescents, homeless veterans, and families toward betterment. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nevada-Reno (go Wolfpack!), as well as have a Masters in Counseling Psychology (Capella University).

My passion is to see the middle and high schoolers of Coral become their best selves and surround them with a community of helpers and resources that support their strengths. I believe no problem is too much when we face it together.

When I’m not at school, you may find me hiking or biking with my husband in the great outdoors, running on a trail, or trying out new recipes with my daughter in the kitchen.
