This year, you will most likely be taking the following courses:

• Math - Pre- Algebra, Pre-AP Algebra 1, or Pre-AP Geometry (or higher if you are a math whiz!)
• Language Arts 8 (Pre AP English 1 for fast-track students)
• Grade 8 Integrated Science - combo of life and physical science (Pre AP Biology for fast-track students)
• One semester of Computers 8 (counts as your high school computer credit) and one semester of College and Career Education (they switch midyear)
• Geography 8
• Elective period 6 - Important! Electives last all year. They do not change. Expect to stay in your period 6 elective all year long.

Your job this year is to do the best you can and learn to take charge of your education. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it - from me or teachers. We want you to be successful and do your best to prepare yourself for high school.

 

My office is located between B4 and B2 in the Blue B hallway.

 

You will see me for academic concerns (classes, teachers, grades), and you may also see me for social-emotional support. We also have Mrs. Smith, our social worker, who you may see for non-academic issues.

 

At the end of this year, I will be contacting you (most likely in your classes) to explain high school classes and to see what you want to take in 9th grade.
