City of Henderson Engineers visited our geometry classes!
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Steven Connor and his esteemed team from the City of Henderson for taking the time to visit our geometry classes at Sandy Ridge Campus.
During their visit, Mr. Connor and his team provided an enlightening introduction to the field of engineering, highlighting the diverse range of engineering disciplines and the various roles that engineers play in society. Our students were highly engaged and asked thought-provoking questions, which made for a stimulating and interactive session.
In the second half of the class, our students had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on activity that allowed them to experience the engineering process firsthand. Working in teams, students engaged in the iterative process of designing and building a catapult, from brainstorming ideas to testing and refining their designs.
The culminating competition added an element of fun and excitement to the proceedings, and our students left the class with a newfound appreciation for the challenges and rewards of engineering.
We are thrilled to have had such a valuable learning opportunity for our students, and we are grateful to Mr. Connor and his team for making it all possible. We look forward to building on this experience and continuing to inspire the next generation of engineers.
Special thanks to Ms. Sechkova for organizing such an amazing event!
