Hi!
I am Mr. Arikan. I am thrilled to be the new Work-Based Learning Coordinator at CASLV Sandy Ridge. As I step into my third year at CASLV, I am excited about the opportunity to guide you on a journey that connects your classroom learning with the world outside.
Exploring your interests and figuring out what you want to do next might be a challenging task, but the best way to have a better understanding of who you are and what you are capable of is to try and learn. That’s where I come into the picture. My main duty is to support you in gaining valuable work-based experiences so you can confidently make decisions about your future. For example, I will be helping you find job-shadowing or internship opportunities that might be a good fit for your interests so you can be in a worksite, observe, participate, learn, and grow. I will ensure that you and your employer host have all the information you need so everything can go smoothly and your experience is as fulfilling as possible for your personal and professional growth. I will also be arranging guest speakers and organizing the Sandy Ridge Career Fair, so you can meet people from various fields and broaden your horizon while engaging with them. Last but not least, I'll keep track of your community service hours.
Please never hesitate to reach out to me. If you have any questions you can always visit my office, which is the cubicle in the MPR. Or you can e-mail me, and we can arrange a meeting. Here is my email address: [email protected]
No need to feel anxious about the future! We can always grow together and learn to enjoy the multitude of choices before us.
